The 2012 North Norfolk Stroll is fast approaching.

When: Thursday evening, 21 June - Sunday, 24 June

Where:  We will be based again this year in beautiful Wells next the Sea

Are you ready?

Have you booked your B+Bs?  If not, why not?

If you don't fancy driving, come up by train to King's Lynn and catch the Coasthopper bus to Wells.

The Coasthopper

You can leave King's Cross at 15.45, and be in Wells in time for dinner at The Globe.

Annabel and I have just come back from a wet and cold weekend on the coast, checking out everything in preparation for this year's walk.

The basic format is similar to 2010 and 2011, but with a few important differences:

This year we are including an afternoon in the grounds of Holkham Hall, one of England's most wonderful stately homes.  We have planned a walk around the grounds, taking in the magnificent gigantic walled garden, which is being restored to its original state (a five-year project, which is now more than half finished).  There are cycle paths inside the grounds of the estate, and bikes are available to rent.

All lunches this year will be picnics (no queuing up in pubs) - the food will be there for you when you arrive are the end of the morning walks.
Holkham Beach - Friday's picnic site

We're hoping to repeat last year's pre-dinner drinks in the garden of Barn Close House, a beautiful walled Georgian garden.

Dinner on Thursday night will be at The Globe Hotel.

Fish and chips overlooking the sea on Friday night:

dinner at The Crown Hotel on Saturday night:

The Coasthopper bus is still running strong and still accepting London Freedom passes.

The weather is bound to be beautiful - how long can this rain and cold continue?
