June 2013: Advancing on the Eastern Front

Save the dates:  Thursday evening, 20 June - Sunday, 23 June

Where:  Wells next the Sea, North Norfolk

This will be the fourth year of the North Norfolk Stroll - it all started in June 2010.

We have discovered a new walk east of Cley.  The next village along the coast is Salthouse, home to the wonderful St Nicholas Church, which dates back to 1250. There is a lovely high-level path from Cley to Salthouse (click here to see more), with stunning views of the coastline.

Cley Marshes Visitor Centre
The eastern extension takes in both St Nicholas Salthouse, and the award-winning Cley Marshes Visitor Centre, which is run by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.  It has a delightful cafe with delicious homemade scones and cakes.

We are also thinking about including an optional maritime outing to see the seals on Blakeney Point (boats go from Morston Quay and Blakeney Harbour; the times depend on the tides).

As usual, there will also be fish and chips from French's (gherkins, pickled onions and all the trimmings), dinners at the Globe and the Crown in Wells, some picnic lunches, and maybe even a taste of whisky-enhanced Christmas cake for tea. Good weather is guaranteed - it never rains in Norfolk in June.

It's not too early to book B+Bs (click here) or hotel rooms .

See you in June.
