Advancing on the Eastern Front

Salthouse captured

Ancient church saved

Defying the Met Office forecasts and stiff winds, we managed to get to Salthouse and enter the church (with the help of someone who turned up with a key).

The 4th annual North Norfolk Stroll is over, but quite a few of us can still feel the effects of the adventure in our muscles, joints and fuzzy heads.

The rain threatened us, but we were not afraid.  The wind was stiff, but we even saw some sun in between the clouds.

The rose-coloured starling

that turned up in Wells just before we arrived brought with it a small puff of Mediterranean warm air, which prevented nearly everyone (except Jeremy Laurance) from getting too cold:

As usual, we walked, we ate, we drank and we talked.  The walk from Salthouse to Cley was splendid, with a new view out over the salt marsh and the sea.  The fields of barley were green with a red tinge on the top.

And a few more pictures, to help you remember.

Please e-mail me more pictures, and I will put them up for everyone to see.
